Serial Release

cover of the book benoni's defense

I'm currently serializing Benoni's Defense, the first novel in the Inveztigators series, on Wattpad. Click the cover to read it for free. You can still buy print or ebook copies and binge it now. This is partially in celebration of the end of my KDP select term. I'm planning on releasing the book on other platforms as well to avoid Amazon exclusivity. Personally, I don't like their ethics. Professionally, I understand they have a huge corner on the book market. Anyway, let's show the world you don't have to nickel and dime people for every little good thing in life! I also setup a ko-fi tip jar. If you like my writing, please support (there's a snazzy new link in the navbar). I think it would be cool to offer everything on a sort of honor system. If you can afford it, please pay. If not, you can still enjoy. I guess popcorn reading for the masses is my new war cry.

When Gene Bronsky gets an invitation to Adam's reunion party, it sounds like just what he needs. He's unemployed and down on his luck for reasons he doesn't want to discuss.

Being trapped in a mansion overnight with unlimited booze and friends sounds great.

But when Adam reveals that their old friend Tasha is missing, presumed murdered, any illusions of a weekend getaway go out the window. Even worse, Adam and Gene share an ex, Augustina, and she wants to turn the tragedy into content for her true crime podcast.

After tensions mount during the first night, one of the guests is murdered.

Now they must figure out who killed her, before anyone else dies...

Felonious Means - Out Now!

"When somebody lays Faust out in front of you, you have to take it!"

Alex Garibaldi is the kind of guy Cass and Artie can't stand. He's an unrepentant robber baron, coked up on self-importance, and used to everyone around him following his commands to the letter.

A rash of quiet quitting leads him to hire Cass and Artie to uncover the spiritual dimension of his employees' dissatisfaction. At least that's what the invoice says. What's more, he won't take "no" for an answer, insisting the unorthodox detectives have special skills that will prove indispensable as the mystery unfolds.

But when Cass and Artie start interviewing employees, they quickly discover that aside from merely extorting them, Garibaldi wants to hide critical facts about the case. Facts that point to a plot to install himself as the sole arbiter of access to a weapon of mass destruction...

The Hollow Oak

cover of the book the hollow oak

Cass and Artie are back. This time, they've been hired to investigate a local UFO cult.

After foiling a private/public-sector conspiracy on their first outing, Cass and Artie have hit a dry spell. The only cases coming across their inbox boil down to busting cheating spouses or chasing ghosts. That is, until they find Rebecca Lin, whose daughter Jessica has been kidnapped by a local cult. Now, they must infiltrate the cult's compound, avoid getting brainwashed somehow, and bring Jessica back. But for Cass, taking down the cult is personal...

No promises here, but I'd expect to see:

  • irresponsible (albeit funny) drug use
  • a Mantid plot to evolve humankind to the Next Level
  • Freemasons and the CIA
  • big time apocalyptic vibes
  • new, deranged characters
  • NLP and hypnosis
  • demon summoning from the Lesser Key of Solomon
  • pathological distrust of anyone in authority
  • even a few laughs along the way!
